Condensate Drains With Level Control
All plants that use compressed air have to deal with condensate removal. It seems simple enough to just install an inexpensive timer drain and let it do it's thing, but that may not be your best option. Since the amount of condensate in a compressed air system changes constantly, many problems can arise with time-controlled drains. If the operating time is set too short, or the intervals are too long, not enough condensate is drained and it can back up into the air system. If the operating time is too long, or the intervals too short, valuable compressed air is allowed to escape. A single timer drain operating incorrectly can waste up to 4,804 hp of energy per year.
A better option in dealing with condensate removal is a condensate drain with level control. Electronic drains with level control can ensure loss-free condensate discharge. By monitoring and controlling the amount of condensate that is discharged, the drain can prevent the loss of any compressed air. Selecting and installing the correct drain with level control can provide many benefits:
- Reduction of Energy Consumption: Eliminate the waste of expensive compressed air and reduce your impact on the environment.
